摘要
The community of science is an integrated part of society, But it can also be seen as an independent parr in a way that it has its special rules that are prerequisities for the development of scientific research in a society of democracy, The research must be allowed to follow its own route and not be tied up to certain paradigms of political nature like these ruling in Soviet during the Stalin-era and in the Nazi-Germany of Hitler. A special problem which is considered in this paper is the necessity of reinforcing the influence of interdisciplinary science that can form a bridge between different disciplines which in our specialized time more and more tend to be like isolated islands in an archipelago of science. As an analytical instrument when analysing the organizational structure and co-operation within a community of science the use of the concept of James Crier Miller's critical subsystems has been examplified.
