A Rule Based Method to Auto-recognize Fillet Features of B-Rep Mill Parts

摘要
The transition features such as fillet features provide an aesthetic look for a product and feature recognition of these features is as important as recognition of volumetric and surface based features. Many research works contribute to the recognition of surface based features, volumetric features but a gap still exists in recognition of fillet features. In this paper, an effort is made to develop an algorithm that can auto-recognize fillet features of B-rep parts by a rule based method. The top cover of a cell phone model in .SAT file format is input to test the algorithm and the auto-generated results show the algorithm is able to automatically recognize fillet edges and the faces they belong to.
