摘要
With TRMM PR data, we investigated the vertical rain gradient at the lowest level free from the clutter to estimate surface rainfall using the individual profile information and to clarify the regional characteristics of the precipitation structure. The rainfall near the surface was in conjunction with the height dependency of rainfall rate at the low level and the mainlobe clutter depth. In this study, surface rainfall was estimated by considering the vertical rain gradient in the clutter layer to he constant with that at the lowest level. Most regions exhibited that the estimated surface rainfall is smaller than the near-surface rainfall. It means that downward decreasing rainfall rate is dominant at the lowest level.
