Effect of foliar application of plant bio-regulators (PBRs) on growth and graft success of cashew rootstocks

摘要
A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of foliar application of plant bio-regulators on growth and graft success of cashew rootstocks during three different periods of the year (March-May, June-August and September-November). Application of GA(3) 100 ppm 20 days after germination produced the maximum plant height and number of leaves per seedling at 60 days (March-May and September-November). However, during June to August rootstock growth was found to be higher either with GA(3) 50 ppm or 100 ppm. Maximum graft success was recorded with GA(3) 100 ppm during different periods. The study also showed that graft success was found to be highly correlated (0.05% level) with plant height. No significant difference was observed among the concentrations of panchagavya applied, though application at 5 % was apparently found to be beneficial for growth parameters and graft success.
