摘要
Soil slope failure is one of the common disasters in Thailand. Several modes of failure are found ranging from debris flow from a mountainous area to a circular deep-seated failure in very soft marine clay deposit in the central plan. Although various methods of the slope stabilization were attempted in the past, but safety and economics of the system are questionable. Some failure slopes are still re-occurred at the same spot or the better alternatives can be proposed. This research is aiming to search for the systematic guidelines to reach the most effective soil slope stabilization for the particular area. The basic knowledge to create this system are from the expert opinions, the past failure cases and the theoretical considerations. After the knowledge acquisition from several sources, the rules are formed to input to the expert system shell program. The GIS techniques are employed to advise the soil data derived from the existing soil boring logs and the agricultural soil map from the Land Development Department. The user can enter the slope location with the pertinent information then the program will suggest the top three suitable methods for slope stabilization. However the final decision has to be the responsibility of the engineer who designs the slope protection himself. The program also links to the stability analysis program (KUslope) in order to provide the useful tool for analysis and design. Finally this program is hoping to reduce the numbers of slope failure in Thailand.
