摘要
Precision, reliability, and fault tolerance is the most essential features of resolvers used in safety and mission critical applications. In this paper a highly reliable two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF), rotational-linear resolver is proposed for 2DOF tubular motors. In this scheme, only one stator/rotor core with helical windings is used to detect both rotational and linear movements. Here, significantly reduced failure rate, volume and cost is aimed simply by eliminating redundancies and complexities of the resolver structure. There is only one excitation and only one signal winding that identifies the proposed resolver from previous 2 DOF resolvers. Furthermore, manufacturing process is also simplified compared to previous designs. The performance of the proposed resolver is investigated using 3-D time stepping finite element analysis (3-D TSFEA).
