摘要
Europe's integration has brought about a "Europeanization of remembrance" that adresses not only the Holocaust, but also Communist crimes. In 2006, Croatia has adopted a curriculum that encourages multiple perspectives and work with historical sources, but also calls for discussion of the "cultural achievements" of the Ustasa state. This curriculum remains in force on the eve of Croatia's accession to the European Union. Schools can choose from among four history books. The spectrum ranges from works that trivialise nationalism and the Ustasa regime to a critical thought-provoking textbook that provides a variety of perspectives.
