A multi-channel network that uses a separate channel for control packets exchange in order to coordinate the data communication, is studied in this paper. We assume that the parallel data channels are divided into two groups, while an one to one correspondence among the data channels of the two groups is considered. This assumption is exploited by the proposed asynchronous transmission MAC protocol in order to decrease the channels collisions probability. An analytical model based on Poisson statistics is developed for the performance measures evaluation. The average throughput and the average transmission cancellation probability in order to avoid a channel collision are studied for several numbers of data channels.
