摘要
Polyvalent immunoglobulins have been used for more than 20 years in immune-mediated disorders and humoral immunodeficiency. Their use has gradually increased, leading regulatory authorities to issue guidelines on the indications of these costly treatments. Neurological diseases; including autoimmune neuromuscular disorders such as acute and chronic polyradiculoneuropathies and multifocal motor neuropathy, are the main indications of intravenous immunoglobulins. Most patients with these diseases will need long-term maintenance therapy Further research is needed to optimize the use of polyvalent immunoglobulins and to find alternative treatments.
