摘要
The important implications of family caregiving have a significant negative impact on the caregiver's psychological health. Most models of stress coping in caregiving highlight the interactive determinism of the variables involved in this process; personality is examined as one of those elements. In this study, 165 family caregivers of people participated, adults and children, dependent or disabled. 143 were women and 22 were men. Results indicate that stressors such as family satisfaction or perceived social support influence the psychological health of caregivers, not only through a direct effect on it, but also by influencing the psychological adjustment of these caregivers. Psychological adjustment may be better understood from these results within the concept of "stress proliferation".
