QCD studies with the OPAL detector at LEP

Various QCD studies performed by the OPAL collaboration at LEP are presented. The first half of the report is devoted to an investigation of the running of the strong coupling alpha(s) and tests of power corrections for moments of the event shapes thrust and C parameter using data at c.m. energies from root s = 91 GeV to 172 GeV. In the second half, selected QCD analyses at root s = 183 GeV are presented including measurements of event shape distributions, determinations of alpha(s) and measurements of jet rates and charged particle based quantities.
