Estimating the impact of pollution on a water body and controlling pollution using technology- and water-quality-based pollution controls

This paper provides an overview of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) approach to technology-based and water-quality-based pollution controls and describes EPA's approach to assessment of the impact of pollution on a water body. Much of the information presented has potential application to assessment of the impact of pollution on the quality of water and to the control of water pollution in Mediterranean area.
