Whereas a minimal realisation of a multiple-input-single-output (MISO)-type universal current-mode (CM) biquad has been known in literature, a minimal realisation of an universal single-input-multiple-output (SIMO)-type CM biquad has however not been known so far. This communication fills this void by presenting a new universal SIMO-type CM biquad which employs only three multiple-output-Current-Conveyors (MOCC) and a bare minimum of passive elements (only four, all of which are grounded). The proposed circuit facilitates the realization of any of the five standard filter functions namely, low-pass, band pass, high pass, notch and all pass, without requiring any component-matching conditions or change of terminals/active elements. The workability of an implementation based on CMOS-MOCCs has been confirmed by PSPICE simulations.
