A Navier-Stokes solver using edge-based smoothing

摘要
A three dimensional Navier-Stokes solver based upon the one-step Lax-Wendroff scheme has been developed. The numerical smoothing term added to the basic scheme is derived by using the TVD approach and implemented in an edge-based manner in order to detect and eliminate numerical oscillations in multiple dimension. An algebraic turbulence model is applied to estimate turbulence viscosity. Multigrid algorithm is also incorporated to speed up the convergence to a steady state. Numerical results for subsonic flow over a flat plate and transonic flow in a 3D channel are presented.
