Polymerization of 1-hexene using supported magnesium titanium catalyst: effect of cocatalyst

摘要
A supported magnesium-titanium catalyst was prepared by reducing titanium tetrachloride with a Grignard reagent produced "in situ". The catalyst was characterized by elemental analysis. The polymerization of 1-hexene was carried out using this catalyst and different aluminumalkyls as cocatalyst. The catalyst showed the highest activity when triisobutylaluminum was used as cocatalyst. The poly(1-hexene) samples were characterized by viscosity measurements and gel permeation chromatography.
