摘要
Thermal barrier coatings (TBC) are highly advanced materials applied to metallic surfaces, such as on gas turbine operating at elevated temperatures. These coatings can allow higher operating temperatures and limits the thermal exposure of structural components and thus extends the part life. Turbine blades experience very critical environments inside a gas turbine. They are subjected to very high temperatures, high stresses, and high levels of vibration. All these factors can lead to blade failures, potentially destroying the engine; therefore, turbine blades have to be carefully designed for making possible its use in higher operating temperatures, and thereby extending its life, reducing the life cycle cost, increasing environmental resistance and in some cases even reduce the noxious exhaust emissions. This work aims to provide a barrier coating of PSZ on a turbine blade and to optimize its thickness for the best performance. (c) 2018 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
