Particle Swarm Optimization Modelling of the Heart Rate Response in Treadmill Exercise

摘要
The ability to control the HR in treadmill exercise is of great importance in the design of exercise routines. In order to perform the HR control, as a model relating HR with speed is needed. There arc several models but a key issue is the parameter estimation. This work considers the parameter estimation problem formulated as an optimization one and solved using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). This algorithm is used for the first time in this field. Achieved results and comparisons show the better improvement with respect to other estimation methods.
