Evidence for supersymmetric dark matter annihilations into gamma rays

摘要
The astrophysical gamma-ray energy spectra measured by balloon-borne emulsion detectors and the Whipple imaging atmospheric Cerenkov telescope are shown to offer possible evidence for the existence of a monoenergetic gamma-ray flux excess over the background centered at 3.5+/-0.3 TeV, indicating the annihilation or decay of relic dark matter weakly interacting massive particles. The observed gamma-ray Aux is compatible with the annihilation of 3.5+/-0.3 TeV supersymmetric neutralinos if neutralinos occupy an enhanced density dark matter distribution, and the observed gamma-ray flux is compatible with the annihilation of technibaryons occupying a smooth halo dark matter distribution if monoenergetic gamma rays represent a major annihilation mode of technibaryons.
