摘要
BaY2ZnO5:Eu3+ powders were synthesized by using both a high-energy ball mill (HEB) and a conventional solid-state reaction (SSR) and were characterized. The effects of the crystal size on the crystallinity, morphology, structure and luminescence spectrum were investigated by using X-ray diffraction, field emission-scanning electron microscopy and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The characteristic peaks of the Eu3+ ion intra-4f transitions from the excited states to lower levels are as follows: D-5(2) -> F-7(J) (J = 0, 1, 2, 3), D-5(1) -> F-7(J) (J = 1, 2, 3), and D-5(0) -> F-7(J) (J = 0, 1, 2, 3, 4). The PL intensity of the BaY2ZnO5:Eu3+ increased with increasing sintering temperature. Compared to the solid-state reaction method, synthesis by using high-energy ball milling is simple and easy to carry out.
