Fifteen years of renewal A historiographical balance of the studies on religion in nineteenth-century Spain (2000-2015)

The historiography on religion in contemporary Spain has changed profoundly in the last few years. Studies on Catholicism, Protestantism and other religious phenomena in nineteenth-century Spain have undergone a thorough renovation, incorporating new objects and analytics methods from gender studies, cultural history or global history. A survey on the researchs conducted in the first three decades of the century show a renewed methodology, a good theoretical insight and a new concern for understanding the international dimension of religious phenomena.
