摘要
This paper presents an inventory model on perishable products, in which the demand rate is inventory-level-dependent as well as time-varying. To maximize the firm's total profit, Pontryagin's maximum principle is used to obtain three possible singular regimes. Subdifferential is also introduced to judge which singular regime occurs. Then an exact production policy is determined. The proposed method turns available in cases of backlogging and the demand being a nonlinear function. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the solution procedure.
