摘要
The increasing use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) at different levels of education has presented significant possibilities to the teaching and learning process. In the scope of undergraduate courses, the university professor is the indispensable subject in the learning and training of future teachers, which intensifies the need for continuous teacher training for the pedagogical use of ICT. Thus, this article is a cross - section of the Master 's Degree in Culture and Society research in the Education and Technology line of the Federal University of Maranhao and aims to investigate teacher education and the ways in which ICT use by university professors in their teaching practice. For that, a research-type exploratory-descriptive, quantitative-qualitative, was carried out with university professors who work in the undergraduate courses of the Federal University of Maranhao. The results of the research reveal that teachers make intensive use of ICT, both in daily social and daily teaching, but do not exploit the pedagogical potential of these technologies. They also show that the majority of teachers do not have teacher training for pedagogical use of ICT, and that the use of ICT in teaching practice takes place in an instrumental and punctual way.
