Surface Plasmon Bragg Grating Using Hybrid Metal Insulator Metal Plasmonic Waveguide

摘要
This is the first report on investigation of CMOS compatible hybrid metal insulator metal (HMIM) planar plasmonic waveguide based Bragg grating filter. It is formed by making periodic variation in the width of HMIM plasmonic waveguide. HMIM Bragg filters offer very good filtering characteristics with large band gap and near-zero transmission around the central wavelength. A micro cavity is also formed and investigated by introducing some defect in HMIM plasmonic Bragg grating. This kind of study is very useful for several chip scale applications such as filter, resonator, WDM systems etc..
