摘要
Importance of locally measuring axial strains in triaxial tests to evaluate the viscous properties of soft rock is emphasised. A simple isotach model and the test procedure to obtain the model parameters using a single specimen are proposed. It is shown that the proposed model can simulate very well; a) effects of loading rate change and creep deformation on the subsequent stress-strain behaviour; and b) creep behaviour, including the effects of initial strain rate on the subsequent creep rate.
