摘要
The main aim of this contribution is to give more facts to the expert discussion on impacts of registering a tourism destination on the UNESCO World Heritage List and to discuss sustainable development of these destinations. The contribution evaluates development of tourism in UNESCO destinations in the Region of Vysocina using a comparative analysis of secondary data on collective accommodation establishments for the period 2012 - 2016. Collective accommodation establishments bring the destination both direct and indirect economic benefits and tourism is thus perceived by destinations as a positive development factor. Research results show that, for example, in all surveyed UNESCO destinations there is a decrease in an absolute number of collective accommodation establishments (by 15 - 30 %), although numbers of overnight stays in 2016 were essentially returned to numbers in 2012. Moreover, we can see a decrease in an average of overnight stays.
