Hierarchical partitioning of real-time applications based on object-oriented modeling

摘要
The partitioning of application functions is one of the main design problems of distributed real-time systems. In order to support the complex design process, this paper introduces a hierarchical partitioning approach. This comprises the decomposition of the application into parts and the assignment of these parts to hardware components on different levels, e.g. design of network, electronic control units (ECUs), and mu C peripherals. On each level partitioning is performed in a manner that application specific performance and hardware requirements are met. Moreover, this paper shows that an object-oriented modeling of the application provides an excellent basis for the hierarchical partitioning.
