Pool boiling heat transfer from horizontal tubes to mixtures

The first part of the paper gives a survey of recent experimental results (published since 1982) and of the existing empirical or semiempirical correlations for nucleate pool boiling heat transfer of mixtures. In the second part, various aspects of mixture boiling are discussed with representative examples. Those are the influences of mixture composition, heat flux, saturation pressure, distance of normal boiling points (or critical temperatures) of the components, azeotropic or zeotropic behaviour and in brief the influences of surfactants and oil contaminations. Finally, parallels are drawn between heat transfer and bubble formation, and calculated heat transfer coefficients are compared with experimental data.
