摘要
The new generation of land observation satellites produces panchromatic image data with 5- and 1 meter spatial resolution that will promote the development of new remote sensing applications and will be used also to create high-resolution digital elevation models (DEMs). The Institute for Commercialization of Remote Sensing Technologies (ICREST) at the University of Missouri-Columbia evaluated some potential applications of the new datasets using simulated and actual Ikonos satellite data in the highly urbanized Jordan Creek watershed in Missouri. This paper describes the characteristics and applications of high spatial resolution land use/land cover information, DEMs and merged products used for watershed analysis.
