Exploiting inherent parallelism in non-linear finite element analysis

摘要
In this paper the use of parallel processing techniques is explored in the form of transputer technology to reduce the processing time for non-linear finite element problems, levels of inherent parallelism within the finite element method are identified and the results of implementing these concepts, in terms of processing time reductions, compared to linear processing and domain decomposition, are reported. The developed finite element system is embedded within a design by a manufacturing simulation system, applied to the real time simulation of two-dimensional forming operations.
