Junction Plasmon-Induced Molecular Reorientation

摘要
Time- and frequency-dependent intensity variations in sequences of Raman spectra recorded at plasmonic junctions can be assigned to molecular reorientation. This is revealed through Raman trajectories recorded at a nanojunction formed between a silver atomic force microscope tip and a corrugated silver surface coated with biphenyl-4,4'-dithiol. Molecular motion is not observed when the tip is retracted, and only surface enhancement is operative. In effect, junction plasmon-induced molecular reorientation is tracked.
