摘要
One of the most important methods for evaluating the performance of ad hoc and wireless sensor networks is through the use of simulation. Simulation provides a number of significant parameters and metrics of wireless networks. Additionally, simulation allows the effects of some parameters, such as mobility, data traffic or transmission range, to be studied in detail, while other metrics are held constant. This paper provides a set of well understood mobility models that can be used to simulate mobile ad hoc and sensor networks with independent node movements. Simulation results show that the use of pre-defined pathways has a significant impact on the performance of mobile ad hoc and sensor networks.
