摘要：
The main aim of the article is to analyze position of business entities and clusters as the main actors of regional development and demonstrate their influence on selected regional macroeconomic indicators. The article is focused on the proportion of business entities in the economy sectors in the Slovak regions. Moreover, authors state the number of functioning clusters in regions. Therefore, the importance and benefits of clustering, as a new form improving regional development and competitiveness, are discussed in this paper.
