Tic Gilles de la Tourette syndrome

Gilles de la Tourette syndrome is considered to be the most pronounced form of the clinically heterogeneous spectrum of tic disorders and is often associated with psychiatrically abnormal behaviour. It does no longer seem justified to regard chronic ties and Gilles de la Tourette syndrome as fundamentally different nosological entities. Diagnosis of a tic/Tourette syndrome must still be largely determined clinically and therefore remains unidentified for a long time, especially if clinical symptoms are not very pronounced. Proper diagnosis is only possible if the phenomenology is fully known. At present no fundamentally relevant instrumental examination tools are available to enable a safe diagnosis.
