Al particles coated with ZnS particles were prepared by coprecipitation method. The samples were analyzed and characterized by FT-IR, XRD and SEM. The influences of reaction temperature, reaction time, Al loading and TAA content were studied. The results show that the ZnS/AI composite materials without the metallic luster were of ZnS face-centered cubic crystalline structure, under the Al loading of 1.5g, the TAA content of 2.0g, the reaction time of 5.0h and the reaction temperature of 70 degrees C. The lowest IR emissivity of the prepared composite powders is 0.4520. The composite materials realize the aim of IR-transparence materials coated Al powders and provide to open new avenues to application of Al in multiple-band stealth.
