摘要：

The study presents an assessment of changes in time, related to the position of EU social regions at NUTS 2 level, with regard to value and dynamics of GDP per capita, as well as the classification prepared by means of positional statistics. The obtained groups were compared with reference to the position occupied by regions including capital cities.
