cording to the current lack of the research on soil erosion prediction on the Loess Plateau, several thoughts of the development of the soil erosion prediction information system on Loess Plateau is proposed., Firstly, based on the comprehensive analysis of the system requirement, the global system design is presented. The system functions are divided into four aspects as follows: scenario management, basic computing, soil erosion calculation, data management and visualization. The system development platform and the overall system logical framework are specified. Secondly, according to the geodatabase data model, we point out the principles of database design, namely, integration, integrity and progressiveness. Meanwhile, the database schema is also put forward, and the system database design is fulfilled. Finally, the organization of the fundamental data based on the scenario, the application of spatial analysis in GIS and the soil erosion prediction model coupled with GIS function based on ESRI ArcObjects are discussed in detail, and the corresponding solution is brought forward. At last, the soil erosion prediction information system on the Loess Plateau is realized.
