Study on Urban Road Landscape Design

Urban road is not only an urban transport carrier but all one of the dominant elements highlighting and comprising the urban image. In the past, road landscape concept was to singly plant threes on both sides of the roads. But recently, it has gradually been focused on by many cities both at home and abroad as a strategy to show urban image, increase urban quality and beautify urban environments. Also, road landscape is maturing in overall coordination design of its elements. This essay, based on modern road landscape design aesthetics theories, modern road landscape space theories, modern road landscape elements theories, landscape ecological theories, environmental behavior theories as a theoretical support, conducts research and investigation on landscape design, sums up successful experiences, discusses the shortcomings and proposes corresponding improvement strategies.
