Once the bastion of costly Unix workstation, high performance personal workstation is starting to move to less expensive Windows NT and Pentium-based machines. Personal workstation are the fastest growing segment of the workstation market. It is predicted that this year's shipments of personal workstation will rise dramatically making these units the majority of workstation being deployed.
