Hybrid Microstrip Patch Antenna for Dual Frequency of Operation

摘要
The paper explains about the hybrid structure of microstrip patch antenna which is designed by combining the circular and rectangular patch antenna. The results show that the designed antenna can be operated on dual frequencies 2.09 GHz and 7.45 GHz with an acceptable return loss of -18.02 dB and -19.28 dB respectively. The results are obtained using the finite element based high frequency structure simulator (HFSS) software version 12.1. The proposed structure is also analyzed with the defected ground structure, which further reduces the return losses and size of the designed antenna. For designing of this hybrid antenna, co-axial feeding technique is used to obtain the results.
