Polarization of the radiofrequency electromagnetic field in lanthanum manganites

摘要
A radiofrequency analog of the Cotton-Mouton effect is observed in lanthanum manganites. The magnetic field dependence of the polarization plane rotation and ellipticity are measured experimentally, The physical origins of the strong magnetic field dependence of the penetration coefficient are elucidated. Peculiarities of the magnetic birefringence and dichroism in manganites at radiofrequencies are discussed.
