摘要
Development of the computer technology enabled introduction of 3-D ultrasonography (USG) to the neonatal period. Its advantages are: shorter time and observer independent data acquisition, possibility for off-line data analysis, projection of 3-D data on a 2-D plane with volumetric and p ewer Doppler studies. Equipment unavailability is the main reason why 3-D USG was performed in only half of the newborns in whoom it was indicated. Cost of the equipment prevents introduction of 3-D as a standard diagnostic procedure in neonates.
