A BANDWIDTH MANAGEMENT STRATEGY FOR DVB-RCS SYSTEM

摘要
This paper proposes a bandwidth allocation strategy suitable for DVB-RCS satellite system. The strategy is based on QID (Queue IDentifier), which is mapped from user priorities and service types. Combining with the capacity types supported by reverse link of the system, it can make the best use of the bandwidth resources of the system and improve the bandwidth utilization efficiency. The results of OPNET simulation revealed that this strategy can well achieve the requirement of the system performance. In addition, it can also allocate the remaining bandwidth dynamically and achieve the guarantee of QoS based on high priority services.
