Analysis of beam-column joint in steel frame structure based on connection failure probability

摘要
Flange-welded web-bolted connection was analyzed in this paper, and the influential factors on weld fracture toughness demand at the connection are discussed, and through discussion, the length of the beam and the loading conditions in the finite element model of connection were determined. With respect to random parameters including material yield strength, critical value of weld fracture toughness (J Integral) and initial flaw at the interface of the beam bottom flange and column flange, the finite element analysis was conducted in ANSYS to find the relationship between section-normalized moment and J integral demand at the crack tip. Finally, the probabilistic model of connection failure was proposed including the relationship between nM and P-f.
