A Novel Application of Pinch Technology in Air Pollution Analysis

摘要
Air pollution control and reduction has received a paramount attention for last decades due to environmental and health concerns and since then many models and plans have been proposed by researchers. Moreover, Pinch Technology was successfully applied in heat exchanger networks in 80's and mass exchanger integration in 90's to optimize the energy use (heat and water). Researches show that pinch technology concept in all systems are comparable. In this paper comparing the different applications of pinch technology, a novel application is introduced which is the study of air pollution by this analysis. In addition, grid diagram and composite concentration curves are plotted to obtain air pinch point. Targeting and target optimization is explained in detail. Using these graphs, minimum required fresh air to keep the standard limitations can be calculated. Finally, the case study of Tehran is considered and all calculations, including targeting and design of required filtration stations, have been conducted to 20 districts of Tehran.
