Generation of quaziinertial oscillations during upwelling near the south coast of Crimea

摘要
The response of the Black Sea shelf zone to short period (up to one day) wind action is investigated. Mathematical modelling is carried out numerically on the basis of full (complete) system of motion equations. It includes the nonlinear terms as well as the terms responsible for the turbulent exchange. The fluid is assumed continuously stratified. It was found that the vertical stationary circulation cell was-formed in the shelf interior due to the wind action. It is characterized by virtue of water ascent near the coast and descent in the region of the shelf break. Near inertial (with periods from 17 to 24 hours) horizontal oscillations in the open part of the sea are generated. They decay slowly when wind decreases.
