Novel coaxial connector aids in-vehicle phone users

摘要
CONNECTORS play a humble but important role in the design of a wireless system. For example, concerns over safety issues related to the in-vehicle use of mobile telephones have been well documented. But a new high-performance coaxial connector design can help to alleviate these concerns. The novel connector permits hands-free use of a mobile telephone with improved signal gain and signal integrity. The new connector interface switches the signal of a mobile telephone from its own internal antenna. to a vehicle's external antenna for hands-free operation with enhanced performance, The connector design accommodates significant misalignment between a mobile unit and its cradle, while occupying minimum space within the telephone. The connector can be produced in high volumes at low cost.
