摘要:
The article is a consideration on the destiny of the Russian Philosopher Vladimir Solovyov in the context of the book by American scholar Thomas Nemeth "The Early Solovyov and His Quest for Metaphysics". Nemeth thoroughly analyses living circumstances of early Solovyov and deplores that he being a gifted thinker had spent his best years for the purposeless romantic dreaming that hindered him to develop his ideas into the full-scale scientific theory. He positively evaluated only the doctoral thesis by Solovyov. Nevertheless Solovyov romantic quest for the Divine Humanity played a bigger role in the formation of Russian philosophy because it had provided a chance to unite a scientific search for truth with an intellectual urge for better life and just with that philosophy became an inseparable component of national culture. Russian philosophy turned out to be an apology of Solovyov just as the ancient philosophy became an apology of Socrates from the moment of his death.
