摘要
Various strategies for managing livestock and wildlife in the Intermountain West have been developed. Many of these strategies do not involve forced reduction in number of grazing animals to reduce negative impacts. Some of the practices involve people management; some involve resource management. Use of multi-interest advisory groups, strategies to lure Livestock and wildlife from riparian areas, and the use of livestock to enhance wildlife forage are examples of techniques being used across the West. Conservation easements to ensure maintenance of wildlife habitat and hunting access programs to ensure public hunting on private lands are additional methods being used to enhance resource management.
