摘要
In this paper, modeling was performed to study the effect of sulfonation conditions on fibre properties of the long-fibre fractions of Jack pine thermomechanical pulp during selective refining. Then, three different chemimechanical pulping procedures were compared: sulfonation of long fibres after fractionation, interstage whole-pulp sulfonation and chip sulfonation during primary stage refining (CTMP process). The results showed that various sulfonation conditions had different impacts on the fibre properties of the long-fibre fraction. Sulfonation associated with selective refining required less energy and developed fibres more efficiently than the sulfonation of chips or whole pulp.
