摘要：

The aim of this work was to analyze the purpose of statistical graphs included in the two most frequently series of textbooks used in Costa Rica basic education. We analyse a total of 167 graphs and 398 activities related to these graphs. We present examples of the different purposes by which the graphs are used and describe the differences of the type of graph and the purpose of the graph in the activities in the various grades and between both editorials.
